The members of the U.S. Olympic Team and U.S. Paralympic Team were initially going to go to the White House after the Paralympics concluded. Special attire was given to each member. The trip was cancelled, perhaps due to funding concerns. Then, after most team members had traded their duds for foreign clothes with the other countries' athletes the word came that the trip was back on. Perhaps the electoral pressures caused reconsideration. Lindsey shook the hand of George Bush.
