Note the geometric pattern on the right-hand wall, derived from the left wall. The camera captures only a shadow of the real-life effect.
The oaks to the right obscure the deck and half the house, but the entire house was designed to leave them intact, a stipulation of the owner's original criteria. No trees were removed for this house, yet another indication of the successful design of the architect. A few months after the house was finished (August '97), the lake rose to within a foot of the veranda just to the left of the curving wall's edge in the above photo. The owners moved back into the house the day the water retreated off of the foundation, and this picture shows the condition much as it was then. Truly wash and wear!
